About The BLOG
Sometime around 30 AD, a group of radicals gathered together and faced a life-changing question. These were quite ordinary individuals, mostly just a group of business people. But the decision they arrived at would dramatically change the world.
They asked themselves, “What should we do with our beliefs? How can we continue now that our leader has moved on?
“Should we simply gather together as a small group once a week and share and encourage each other? Should we forget all that we know, get back to business as usual and just blend back into society? Or rather, should we embrace the call of our leader and despite all risks, take what we know to be true to the world.”
These, of course, were the disciples of Jesus Christ, and because of their conviction and courage they began to build the early Church. This decision not only impacted billions of people for many generations to come, but it also cost them their own lives, as most of them were martyred as a result of their efforts.
It’s with this same boldness that each of us much face the eternal questions of “Who is Jesus Christ?” and “How do the teachings of the Bible apply to my everyday life?”
This BLOG “Real Life. Real God.” is about exploring the truth shared by these early church radicals. This powerful truth not only draws on the daily experiences they had in personally being mentored by Jesus, but also through the exploration of the ancient scriptures we know today as the Old Testament portion of the Bible.
Our focus here will be to seek to understand more clearly how we should be integrating these truths into each facet of our lives. Sure, this made sense two thousand years ago, but how does it all fit into how we should be conducting ourselves in 2010? How should our faith be impacting our marriages, family, friends, work and everyday living?
The purpose of this site ultimately is to bring people closer to God, and to encourage them to embrace a faith which overflows seamlessly into the “Real Life.” For some, it might be an opportunity to explore further what it means to be a Christian. For others, it will provide insights and challenges to grow deeper in their faith.
Hopefully, if we are successful, regardless of where you are in your faith walk, you will feel welcomed and be comfortable in sharing your ideas as we journey together.
